Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 2:14-19 (ESV)

Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have swerved from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some. But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”

14 Recuérdales estas cosas a todos y ordénales en presencia de Dios que dejen de pelearse por palabras. We have an exciting season ahead at Uptown Community Church! Between the Fall Retreat, Fairview Garden Clean Up, and our Welcome to Uptown class, there are plenty of ways to grow and connect. Also the After 8 Life Group starts this week. There's still time to join!

The Fairview Garden Lot Project is one of the ways we help bring God's beauty to the neighborhood. This month, we're partnering with City Seminary! A group of master’s students will come to learn how to live out public faith in their communities.

October 18 | A prayer and meal with City Seminary | 10am to 12pm
