Young Learners Mentor and K-5th Sunday Mentor
Young Learners Mentor
10AM-12PM Every Sunday Through June 2022. $30/hour. Uptown Community Church 551 Fort Washington Ave
Young Learners Mentor will provide nurturing care for children ages 3-4 while their parents attend church service at Uptown Community Church. Young Learners Mentor will, alongside a volunteer mentor, help facilitate a simple class flow that will inspire our Young Learners to understand and enjoy the Bible and learn Bible songs and verses. The Young Learners Mentor will welcome children into class, and be responsible for checking each child out of class with the appropriate adult.
Young Learners Sunday Mentor must be vaccinated. A mask will be required when in the building and mentor must know and follow all Uptown Community Church and Hebrew Tabernacle Covid Safety Protocol.
Responsibilities Include:
Arriving at 10AM and setting up space and materials by 10:20
Checking in and welcoming children into the space and saying hi to parents
Facilitate a simple class flow: Welcome Bible Songs, Bible Verse, Wiggle Time, Open Play/Drawing
Checking children out with appropriate adult, saying goodbye to children/families
Putting away materials/general tidying of space
1 email check in per week with the Children's Ministry Coordinator to go over any materials orders, thoughts, questions, etc.
K-5th Sunday Mentor
10AM-12PM Every Sunday through June 2022. $30/hour. Uptown Community Church 551 Fort Washington Ave
K-5th Sunday Mentor will work together with volunteer mentors to provide Gospel learning and on site logistical support to Uptown Community Church K-5th graders while their parents attend church service. K-5th Sunday Mentor will help facilitate an engaging Gospel learning class and work with volunteer mentors to set up and run the logistics of the space and materials.
K-5th Sunday Mentor must be vaccinated. A mask will be required when in the building and mentor must know and follow all Uptown Community Church and Hebrew Tabernacle Covid Safety Protocol.
Responsibilities Include:
Arrive at 10AM every Sunday to set up the chairs for the kids and the projector for viewing curriculum videos.
Make sure there are enough print outs and materials for each child and potential visitor
Our K-5th group attends the beginning and end of service with their families; Help facilitate getting the kids from the sanctuary to the mentoring space and settled into their seats.
Review curriculum and prepare to work with mentor volunteer to teach the lesson
Help facilitate the day’s lesson
Bring kids back up to the sanctuary when mentoring time is over
Put away chairs and materials after service is finished
Once a week email check in with Children’s Ministry Coordinator to go over any materials ordering needs or any thoughts/questions.
