“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”–‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭

In a world that constantly measures our worth by what we do, we invite you to pause—and remember who you are.

Together, let’s continue exploring the truth that calling begins with being, not doing.

Our Fall Retreat 2025 was a time to pause, reflect, and remember that we are God’s Poema — called and created with purpose. Whether you were there in person or cheering from afar, we want to share this powerful weekend with you.

This page brings together the talks, reflections, and moments that moved us, giving you a chance to listen, engage, and carry those truths into your daily life.

Devotionals

Devotional: MASTERPIECE

A masterpiece can be described as the best thing someone makes.

  • If you draw a picture and it’s the most beautiful, careful, special picture you’ve ever made—that’s your masterpiece.

  •  If someone builds a LEGO castle and it’s their biggest and coolest castle—that’s their masterpiece.

It doesn’t mean everything else you make isn’t good. A masterpiece just means it’s extra special, like the very best work of art, music, story, or building someone has ever done.

💭  THINK

Think about your favorite masterpieces (paintings, music, poems, meals, math theorems, travel destinations, athletic feats).

  • What makes them so special to you?

  • How do they qualify as masterpieces?

📖  READ
"For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." –Ephesians 2:10

🗨️ SHARE

The word workmanship or masterpiece is the Greek word poema meaning God's creative work.

  • What qualifies us as masterpieces of God?

  • In what ways are we special to God?

🙏🏽 PRAY

Say one of the Breath Prayers, repeating it a few times in the rhythm of slow inhales and exhales.
Breathe In: Maker of Masterpieces,
Breathe Out: Help us marvel on your creativity and purpose in us.
Breathe In: God, you made me.
Breathe Out: Help me follow you.

Devotional: RSVP

Have you ever gotten an invitation—maybe to a birthday party or a playdate? Maybe it was a job offer or a speaking engagement?

When you receive it, you probably think about a few things: Who is inviting me? Do I want to go or do it? What will I/we do?

💭  THINK

Think about a time that someone invited you to do something or go somewhere..

  • What influenced how you responded? Why did you say yes or no?  (i.e. your relationship with the sender, its exclusivity (how much the person is your friend), your interest in the event, your availability in terms of time or skill)

📖  READ

In our last prayer prompt, we considered how we are created by God and prepared for good works (Ephesians 2:10). God has extended an invitation - a calling specific to us, his masterpieces!

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 (ESV): 11 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

🗨️ SHARE

  • What are some ways God helps you be the person that you are (like giving you courage, kindness, or patience).

  • In your experience, what has God contributed to your work and sense of calling to it? Thank God for each out loud.

🙏🏽 PRAY

  • Pray that you would say “yes!” to God’s invitation to be who he created you to be.

  • Pray for God to fill you with 'every resolve' in our work, with his power.

  • Pray this prayer over our church family that we would walk in our work with his prepared power and grace.
