Healthy Communities Initiative
Uptown Go Green
Thanksgiving Food Distribution

Saturday November 19th, 2016
10:30am to 12:30pm

Currently there is great need for emergency food in the Washington Heights/Inwood community with 27% living below the poverty line. Sixty percent suffer from being overweight or obese and 10% from diabetes.

In response to this need, Uptown Community Church and 6 other local churches are working in partnership with residents, businesses, schools, and other community organizations through healthy communities initiative "Uptown Go Green". This is our 5th year participating in the renewal of the food landscape in Washington Heights/Inwood by providing free tote bags of fresh groceries to needy residents of the WaHI.

We are looking for donors to sponsor tote bags of fresh produce at $25 each. Our desire is to provide a healthy meal for 1,600 needy families with this collaborative effort.  Help us make this thanksgiving a memorable one to the needy families in Uptown.

To donate online please visit uptowncommunitychurch.com/give. All proceeds will be use exclusively towards this effort. Your gift is tax deductible.

To volunteer please email Walter@uptowncommunitychurch.com.

If your family would like to receive a tote bag please register.
